“I DREAM IN BUTTERCREAM”
While most children were watching cartoons, Tatiana Wingate was watching cooking shows. With a piping bag and a dream she started her own pastry company in 2007 at age 19. Shortly after, she enrolled in The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a chef.
During her time at Walnut Hill she traveled across France, deepening her love for food and her craft. After school, Tatiana went into the industry and worked in bakeries under master decorators to hone her skills.
Since then she has pursued a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Small Business Entrepreneurship. She used this knowledge to grow her business and retire from the workforce at 29. With more free time, she decided to give back to her community by starting Sprinkled Sweetness Academy, a non-profit organization designed to teach students ages 10 and up entrepreneurship and financial literacy through cake design. “I believe that if children understand their ability to generate income at an early age and have a platform to apply those principles, our community as a whole will experience a financial shift.”
